If good enough will do, there are at least 100 answers for you. But if the best is what you need then there is only one real answer--McIntosh.
In todays ultra competitive money driven business world many companies compromise quality for profit margins, this statement is especially true in the audio component industry. They figure most people sparsely use an audio component for a couple of years then replace it. Lets face their goal is to get a few hundred bucks from us every couple of years, they could care less about what happens to their products after they are sold.
McIntosh Labs is the complete opposite of this ideology; they create an audio component with the idea that this is something that you will cherish the rest of your life. This is not just a groundless claim; the fact is 80% of the McIntosh components produced since 1949 are still in use today, no other audio component manufacture can make this claim. The exceptional longevity of McIntosh products owes to a design philosophy established with the very first McIntosh amp: that every component will be created with capacity so great that it will never be operated at or near its stress point. From the initial design process all the way to the shipping department, they take painstaking efforts to ensure that every McIntosh component is perfect. Since the late 40s this rare philosophy has been the driving force behind this exemplary company and it has certainly been the reason why so many people love McIntosh components.
The Mc-2100 was introduced 1969 with a production run until 1977 and an original selling price of $600.00. It is by far one of McIntoshs most popular, and widely used amplifiers. Its robust design and amazing sonic performance made it an ideal choice for both professional and consumer hi-fidelity applications, and now over 35 years later it is still sought out for those same attributes.
The MC2100 sonically rivals and surpasses many of todays so-called high-end power amplifiers with ease. It achieves a degree of fidelity that is synonymous with the McIntosh name. Lows are detailed and melodic while mid and high ranges are equally accurate and pleasant-sounding. It portrays a natural and accurate sound stage, which seemingly involves you in the performance. The MC2100 packs true power, able to drive just about any speaker system effortlessly. Some of the many features and functions of the 2100 include:
the McIntosh Trifilar Unity Coupled Autoformer The McIntosh exclusive Autoformer allows you to get full power output and full power response at all speaker impedances. Using a McIntosh developed Trifilar winding technique, and careful interleaving of the windings makes the autoformer a near perfect matching
device for all loudspeakers, dynamics and electrostatic.
The Sentry Monitoring Circuit prevents failure of the power transistors due to excessive mismatch of the output. With the amplifier operating normally the SENTRY MONITORING CIRCUIT has no effect on the signals passing through the power amplifiers. If the power dissipation should rise above normal, the SENTRY MONITORING CIRCUIT restricts the drive voltage to the output transistors. The SENTRY MONITORING CIRCUIT acts instantaneously. You are assured of complete circuit reliability. McIntosh is the only amplifier with this degree of protection.
Switchable Stereo 2-Channel to Mono 1 Channel At the flick of the switch you can transform the 2100 from a 105 watt 2-channel amp into a 210 watt single channel amp
Accommodations for 4, 8, & 16 Ohm Speaker
Individual Left & Right Gain Controls
And Much More!

Condition:
Amp has been in storage for many years. I powered it up to test it and it sounds great. Both channels play strong and loud with no distortion or hum. Cosmetically amp shows ware. There are scratches and paint ware marks variously located. The MC2100 emblem is in pieces as you can see from the pics. If you look closely at the edges of the chrome you can see the beginnings signs of rust. Amp has some dust build-up as well.
