Audio Research SP14 / Great Northern Sound Mods

Audio Research SP14 in excellent condition both cosmetically and operationally. This preamp was serviced by Audio Research in Aug.2005 with a receipt showing  $235.00. The preamp was treated to over $1200.00 in upgrades  by Steve Huntley and Great Northern Sound. Steve Huntley was a long time technician at Audio Research until starting GNS. I have the receipt for Audio Research services and the Upgrade certificate from Great Northern Sound and these will go with the preamp to it's new owner. Upgrades include high speed rectification, Black Gate caps for filtering and energy storage, V-caps in the signal path, Caddock resistor upgrades, bybee slipstream purifiers, IEC connector, damping etc. The unit was fully tested to spec. Listening evaluation tests-OK'd. Truly a spectacular sounding preamp with a great phono section. I am using it with a mm phono cartridge set at 47000ohms. I have the pair of caddock resistors for mc and will send them along. Manufacturer's boxes and packing are in great shape for shipping.
