COMPLETELY RESTORED BSR 6500 4 Speed COMPONENT RECORD CHANGER
****I’M OPEN TO ADDING A REASONABLE “BUY IT NOW” PRICE BUT ONLY IF THERE ARE NO BIDS YET PLACED ON THIS AUCTION****
If you’re looking for a reliable vintage component stereo record player-changer to attach to either your stereo system or computer to record or listen to your vinyl, then this one’s for you!
Have a look at the pictures and be the judge. But first, please read the rest of this auction (including auction terms) so you know exactly what you’re getting here. If read in its entirety you’ll see that no less than 99.9% of any questions are answered right here...
This is a BSR McDonald model #6500, manufactured 40 years ago! You’d never know it because it has been completely restored. The entire unit has been cleaned, detailed and polished inside and out. All of the mechanical parts have been properly cleaned, adjusted, re-greased and/or lubricated, so it functions as-good-as-new. Also, a NEW (old stock) cartridge and flip-over needle (stylus) has been installed on the tone-arm! One needle tip is for playing all of your albums (LPs) and 45s while the flip-side has a special tip for playing the very old shellac 78rpm wide-groove records - They sound great on this player, with outstanding clarity. If you’re big on playing the 78s you won’t believe how a record at almost 100 years old can sound so “current.” Information on who/where to immediately purchase new needles for this player will be included.
Other NEW parts installed on this record player:
- New (old stock) 45rpm automatic stacking adapter
- New 12 foot audio cable with gold plated “RCA” plugs
- New rubber “feet” on base of unit so your furniture will be safe from scratches
- New motor drive mounts
- NEW SPARE flip-over needle (stylus) will be included with this player so you won’t need to worry about purchasing a replacement for quite a long time (each needle is good for up to 600 hours of play time)
Operating features:
· Spring-loaded record player base helps resist record skipping if jarred
· Automatically plays a stack of six records at a time. When the last record plays the unit shuts itself off
· Convenient cueing lever for safe manual lifting of the needle off the record to move to another track, or for pausing record play
· Anti-Skate (skip) adjustment
· Play speeds of 16, 33 (33-1/3rd), 45 and 78rpm
· Record size selector for playing 7, 10 & 12 inch records
· Heavyweight metal platter with rubber mat for safe play of your records
· Male RCA type patch cords and power cord built into the back of the unit for connection to your home stereo amplifier (via aux, phono, line in or tape input) or even your computer if it has the capability
Cosmetics:
The dust cover has the usual scratches/scuffs but no cracks - It still shines nicely. Aside from that there are a few scuffs on the base of the unit. The record player itself is still in wonderful shape. Any cosmetic issues have no affect whatsoever on the operation of this record player.
***Please note: This is not a stand-alone record player. It does not have a built-in amplifier or speakers so it must be connected to a home stereo system amplifier or tuner that has an aux, phono, line-in or tape input (or a computer with capability) to get sound***
I’m sorry; I know they’re a “must have,” but my records are not included... =)
I’m currently restoring a large variety of record players that will be offered on eBay for the next few months - I may have something you’re looking for. So if you’re willing to pay a reasonable price for a restored player please feel free to contact me... I’ll be more than happy to set up a “Buy it Now” auction for you.
AUCTION TERMS - GUARANTEE - SHIPPING INFO:
BID-WIN-PAY-RECEIVE-HAPPY-HAPPY... It’s true - An eBay auction used to be this simple and fun. But (sadly) we now have the ever-rising cases of identity theft, as well as non-caring individuals who bid, win, then suddenly develop “buyer’s remorse” and back out of the transaction. In an attempt to keep one step ahead of them it has become necessary to instill the following auction terms:
Guarantee:
Every record player I auction is guaranteed to arrive safely and ready to play right out of the box. I work very hard to get these vintage units back to like-new operational condition, ensuring 100% buyer satisfaction. That said, unless I’ve somehow grossly misrepresented the description of this auction the sale is final. A copy of operating instructions, as well as information on where to obtain replacement needles, will be included with this record player****
Shipping:
The flat rate shipping charge for this delicate, vintage record player will be $25.00 shipped via FedEx Ground. The cost includes very well packed, insured shipping with delivery tracking, so it will arrive at your door safely and securely. The majority of my record players are shipped via FedEx for their cost effectiveness and non-issues with shipping these larger packages. If you need your package shipped to a Post Office or APO box the shipping cost may be more than stated in this auction as it will need to ship via U.S.P.S. Priority Mail. Please contact me for a modified invoice before making payment.
PayPal Payment:
Payment is due within seven days; package will be on its way within days of payment, many times shipping the next business day; you’ll receive an email notification with tracking information when the package ships. Package will be shipped to PayPal confirmed addresses [only]! If package must be shipped elsewhere please see other forms of payment.
Money Order/Cashiers Check/Personal Check Payment:
Please Use the “Pay Now” feature to get my mailing address and to let me know how you will be paying for your record player. Payment is due in my mailbox within two weeks (no excuses as this is more than enough time). You will be notified when the payment is received, and again when the package ships out. I’ll gladly ship anywhere you wish in the Continental U.S. You agree that it may take up to ten business days after payment is received before the package is shipped. Should your check bounce you agree to pay the fee my bank charges as a result. Finally, should your money order or cashier’s check turn out to be counterfeit the authorities will become involved!
***Winning bidder agrees that if no contact, payment or payment intention is made within seven days of auction end that this item will be re-listed and a non-paying bidder strike will be placed on your account.***
Thanks so much for your cooperation and understanding and GOOD LUCK BIDDERS!!
