PIONEER SPEC-4 POWER AMPLIFIER ~ Very Nice~ NO RESERVE

I am pleased to be offering for sale this powerful Pioneer Spec-4 stereo amplifier. This is one of the finest power amplifiers ever produced by Pioneer! The Spec-4 was introduced in 1977 and is highly sought after by audiophiles and Pioneer component collectors today. This unit is built to last and is packed with 150 watts per channel. It weighs a whopping 54 pounds!! I lack the needed components to thoroughly test this amplifer but it does power on and I see no reason why it should not work.  If anyone has any ideas on how to test this with just the pre-amplifier and speakers, please let me know and I will happy to try it!  It was quite dirty when I purchased it. I removed both panels and blew all the dust out of the interior using a professional compressed gas duster. All three fuses on the interior were in working condition which is further indication that the amplifier should work. As you can see in my photographs the original handles were removed by the previous owner. I do not have the handles. I purchased this along with its sister unit, the Pioneer Spec 1 pre-amplifier, in a sale a few weeks ago. I am currently offering the Spec-1 and another listing this week! 

Cosmetically, the amplifier is quite nice. The case does have a few small blemishes but no dents. It looks as if one of the lights is out on the VU meter to the left. On the top cover at the left rear is what may be purple fingernail polish or paint, I tried removing this with alcohol but to no avail. I did not attempt using anything stronger and will leave that up to the lucky winner.

As stated above, this is a vintage power amplifier and has not been tested thoroughly. I will guarantee it to not be DOA but because of its age it is being sold AS-IS. Please check my feedback if you have concerns about this unit.
