SB-220

This auction is for a vintage Heathkit 2 KW SB-220 linear HF amplifier. I bought it 2 years ago and it has been on the shelf since then. I know somebody would like to own it, so here it is. Although a little long in the tooth, the Heathkit SB-220 amp was a star in its day and continues to out-power just about anything else on the market. The amp appears to be in very good shape as the pictures show.  The Ham that assembled this amp was obviously a good technician as all of the wiring is dressed properly and all solder joints are clean and bright.

There is a very small scratch on the front panel and a small dent in the upper left hand corner of the case. Other than that it shows well. It is currently wired for 220vac but as you probably know it can be set up for 110vac with a minor wiring change. I would advise the new owner to bring this unit back to life using a variac to protect the power supply section from over-stress.

With this auction I am including an AmpKeyer from Sunlight Energy Systems. This is a must-have for using the amp with any newer transmitter\amplifier keying circuit.  The keyer is brand new.

Also included is the original assembly and operating manual along with a copy I have of a second condensed manual. The tubes will be packaged and shipped separately to prevent damage. The amp is heavy so expect the shipping costs to be a little high. I ship via UPS or Fedex ground. Paypal payment is recommended but I will accept a check or money order. There will be a short hold if paid by check for the funds to clear the bank. I can also process a credit card directly.

This amp appears to be in good shape but please understand that there is no guarantee offered. This auction is “where is-as is”. Local pickup can be arranged. Any questions should be asked prior to bidding.
