ANTIQUE FRENCH STERLING SILVER 10.5" CHARGERS, CROWNS !
Absolutely fabulous and rare SET OF FOUR antique French Louis XVIII to Charles X era 10.5" sterling silver plates or chargers, 1819-1838 hallmarks and each with engraved royal crown topped armorial style heraldry! A crown hovering over two familial crests or emblems, surely wedding or engagement pieces whether gifts or used in the marriage of what would have to have been a royal union (the crown designates a member of the royal family holding at least the position of ). OLD French hallmarks, the Michel-Ange used only between 1819-1838 and all bear the same marks. Silversmith marks that read "RL" with a spade or spoon but I've not been able to find a name, etc. to go with the initials. Thick, heavy silver! Each weighs an average of 21.2 troy ounces or 660 grams, that's 85.3 troy oz. or 2652 grams total! A set of four here, don't miss them!
Very good condition. No dents or damage to any of the four other than visible utensil marks (scratches in the flat surface). The scuffs and scratches do not take away from the elegance and appeal but could surely be removed by a silversmith if you decide to. See pictures for measurements.
